Background
A food manufacture was having particular difficulty with fats combining with flour, increasing the PH of and COD of their effluent – which was in breach of their consents.
Project
In combination with a settlement tank we recommended and supplied a carefully selected blend of coagulants. These chemicals caused the flour and fat to coagulate, which after settling, were able to be removed.
Solution
Our customer was impressed by the effectiveness of the solution we provided and are recouping the financial outlay be selling the waste for agricultural purposes.
