UK and Europe Sales Executive – Water and Waste Water Instrumentation

£30,000 – £38,000 plus commission and benefits.

OTE: £50,000 – £60,000

Smart Storm is a growing instrumentation company and one of the only UK companies to manufacture its own range of products for water and waste water measurement and control. The company, which is relatively young has designed and developed an advanced range of products following several years of research and development and as part of the company’s growth plans it is relocating its offices to Gwynedd in North Wales. The company now seeks an experienced and energetic sales executive to promote its products in the UK and Europe and to work alongside the Managing Director, Business Director and Export manager to rapidly grow the company. Ideally, you should be based in North Wales or the North of England or the Midlands.

You must:

  • Have at least 4 years’ experience in water and/or waste water related service or manufacturing industries such as process instrumentation, level and flow, water quality instruments, pumps and valves etc.
  • Have a proven record of sales growth and success.
  • Have an understanding of the water and waste water routes to market.
  • Have sold into water companies and industrial markets such as Food and Drink, Pharmaceuticals, Green processing.
  • Be able to develop new business and open up new markets.
  • Be able to be forward thinking and bring new ideas into the business to promote growth.
  • Have the energy, drive and determination to grow an emerging business.
  • Higher level qualification in business administration and/or engineering (Chemistry, Instrumentation, Electronics, Mechanical, Environmental)
  • Strong interpersonal skills (good people motivator), solid sales ability, excellent communication skills and very strong team building skills.
  • An excellent command of English.
  • Be a self-starter with strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Have the willingness to travel extensively.
  • Highly developed skill and expertise in customer interaction, contract negotiation and issue resolution.
  • Be able to work cross functionally and independently within a fast-flowing business.

Your duties will include

  • Developing a UK and European customer base.
  • Rapidly increasing sales.
  • Proactively developing the sales function in the company at all levels.
  • Proactively visiting customers to introduce the Smart Storm product range and provide training sessions where necessary.
  • Developing new agents in the UK and Europe.
  • Developing the company’s new CRM database.
  • Supporting company promotions such as advertising, brochures, videos and trade shows.
  • Demonstrating to the Directors a thorough and up to date understanding of the current state of water and waste water markets and up and coming opportunities.
  • Provide detailed sales reports.

C# Development Engineer

£25k – £38k depending on experience

Smart Storm design and manufacture the world’s most advanced products for Water and Waste Water management and control. The Smart Storm product range sets itself apart from its competitors through innovative design with features and benefits not offered by our competitors. The company seeks a C# Software Development Engineer to join our research and development team in developing new advanced products and supporting existing products. You will be based either in our North Wales Headquarters but could be considered for location in our West Yorkshire offices.

You will have the following skills:

  • C# and .NET application development for a minimum of 3 years.
  • BSc degree in Computer Engineering or other appropriate software background.
  • Solid programming experience in C and C++
  • Proven experience in software design with pre-emptive, multitasking real-time operating systems preferably in sensor-based instrumentation.
  • Good knowledge of applying rugged software techniques for industrial applications.
  • Digital interfacing experience including Modbus, SPI, Serial Communications etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of OS coding techniques, IP protocols, interfaces and hardware subsystems
  • Strong communication, documentation and writing skills

You will be responsible for:

  • Software development and maintenance
  • Designing, developing, coding, testing and debugging system software
  • Reviewing code & design
  • Designing & implementing software of embedded devices and systems from requirements to production and commercial deployment
  • Analysing and enhancing efficiency, stability and scalability of system resources

Instrumentation / Service Engineer

Halifax based covering UK

 £25k – £32K Salary depending on experience.

Smart Storm Ltd design, develop and manufacture ultrasonic measurement systems that are used in the Process and Water industries. We supply and maintain equipment to businesses throughout the UK and have established an excellent reputation. Due to continued growth plans we are delighted to offer the opportunity for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be installing, servicing and maintaining trade effluent monitoring equipment in factories, Tanneries, Abattoirs etc.  You must be competent with electrical installations, control panel instrumentation and the use of hand and power tools.

Due to the nature of this role you will need to have a full clean UK driving license.

The Person

You will be educated to HNC/HND or equivalent in an engineering discipline.  The role has genuine promotional and long-term career development opportunities. Ideally you will have gained some practical experience of electro-mechanical / electronic equipment or similar and have completed an apprenticeship in an engineering discipline or have some post apprenticeship experience but this is not essential. You will also ideally hold a 17th Edition electrical wiring certificate or equivalent.

You will be self-motivated, professional and confident. You will be able to communicate at all levels, including quick, concise and accurate report writing and have good IT and data analysis skills.
